Il gruppo si è formato ad mwdaOakland nel mwdq1994, grazie a mwdgChris Reifert e Danny Coralles, entrambi membri originari degli mweaAutopsy.cite-ref-aiello-1-0[1] Sono considerati assieme a band come mwfqCrisis, mwfgConverge e molti altri come precusori del sottogenere ibrido tra il mwfwmetalcore e il mwgadeath metal chiamato anche mwgqdeathcore.
